Podcast Watch : Bijoy Shetty

Bijoy Shetty is an Indian music video director who has been in the spotlight for his unique & bold cinematic style.

Though he has directed music videos before, he shot to fame with the release & popularity of “Big Dawgs” (Hanumankind) last year. The new track “Run it Up” which showcases Indian martial art forms and tells a visually captivating story of rebellion & protecting dharma, took his popularity a notch higher!!

I was fascinated to another level with that video and naturally, I had to dig up some info about him, which landed me on this podcast and I immediately was hooked !!

First of all, notice his language – it’s sooooo Bambaiyya (Bombay dialect) !! And everything about his journey has been both authentic and organic.

Loved the bits where he mentions that as Indians, we face a lot of racism and we need not copy the West but rather embrace our own unique cultures & traditions. Needless to say, this comes through in the videos he directs for Hanumankind and may I also add that it has led to the popularity of those tracks!
